The derivative feedback scheme shown opposite is designed to control the percentage overshoot and decay rate of an under-damped system.




Where D is the derivative gain.


1       Construct the derivative feedback system using your differential equation model of section A and determine the value of D required to provide a unite step response with 10% overshoot.
